 FOR THE

2008 CAPITAL FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL

        

          

   DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF VOLUNTEERS

WINE POURER

  • Wine Pouring Training Handout 

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Requires standing

  • Pouring wine and monitoring pouring

  • Assisting wine experts/vintners. 

  • Notify vendor support personnel when: bottles need replacing; ice and supplies (cups/paper towels as appropriate) needs replenishing; water container needs emptying. 

  • In accordance with guidance provided by the State Liquor Licensing Board agent, gauge level of consumption of individual and refuse service as appropriate.

 BEER POURER

  • Beer Pouring Training Handout

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Requires standing

  • Pouring beer and monitoring pouring

  • Assisting the Micro-Brew experts

  • Notify vendor support personnel when: kegs need replacing; ice and supplies (cups/paper towels as appropriate) needs replenishing; water container needs emptying

  • In accordance with guidance provided by the State Liquor Licensing Board agent, gauge level of consumption of individual and refuse service as appropriate.

DOOR STAFF

  • Door Support Training Handout

  • Front Door Check-In Training Handout

  • Requires standing or sitting as appropriate

  • Directs Festival attendees

  • Ensuring neither open wine nor beer containers are taken outside of Pavilion or Worthington Center

  • Directs consumers to the appropriate entry door 

  • Directs volunteers to the volunteer door

  • Provides security presence during the festival. 

  • Door staff assigned to roll door (Position # 7) will monitor access to ice supplies.  Only vendor support personnel and festival official will have access to ice supplies. 

  • Ensures individuals who reenter the Pavilion or Worthington Center have the appropriate hand stamp for reentry.

VENDOR SUPPORT

Pavilion & Worthington Center Vendor Support

  • Vendor Support Training Handout

  • Requires lifting

  • Requesting additional wines for replenishing at booth

  • Emptying garbage

  • Keeping water containers filled

  • Clearing tables in designated areas

  • Ensuring recycle products are placed in appropriate containers.

   WORKING WITH OTHERS

We are aware from past experience that you may wish to work with your spouse, significant other or whom ever.  Or that you belong to a group that would like to work together. 

But to allow this to happen we must be made aware of your desire to do so.

In the OnLine Registration Form you are about to go to you will find a block titled COMMENTS.   In the space provided in the block, please do the following if you wish to:

WORK WITH SPOUSE, ETC

Please identify by Name your spouse, significant other or individual you wish to volunteer with in the COMMENTS block.  Your spouse, significant other  individual should also fill out an OnLine Volunteer Application Form requesting the same Volunteer Position and Shift you are requesting.  And your spouse, significant other or individual you wish to work with should identify you by Name in the COMMENTS block of their form.

WORK WITH GROUP

Please identify the Name of your Group.  All members of the Group should also fill out an OnLine Volunteer Application Form and identify your Group in the COMMENTS block of their form.
